BRUSSELS: Europe's top court sided with privacy rights supporters on Tuesday, saying that world No. 1 search engine Google can be required to remove sensitive information from its internet search results.

The case underlines the battle between advocates of free expression and supporters of privacy rights, who say people should have the "right to be forgotten" meaning that they should be able to remove their digital traces from the Internet.

US chides China over maritime dispute with Vietnam

WASHINGTON: The United States told Beijing on Monday that the movement last month of a Chinese oil rig and vessels into waters disputed with Vietnam was provocative, the state department said.

Secretary of state John Kerry delivered the message in a telephone call with Chinese foreign minister Wang Yi, US spokesperson Jen Psaki said.

Maritime rows in the South China Sea flared this month after China moved an oil drilling rig into waters also claimed by Hanoi.

Indian Rupee up 45 paise against US dollar

MUMBAI: The rupee became stronger by 45 paise to 59.60 against the US dollar in early trade on Tuesday at the Interbank Foreign Exchange market amidst exit polls forecasting the BJP-led NDA forming the government at the Centre.

Increased selling of the dollar by banks and exporters amid sustained foreign capital inflows also supported the rupee, dealers said.
