In a move that has caught many by surprise, Reliance Jio has introduced significant updates to its Rs 349 prepaid plan, marking a notable shift in its strategy to boost customer satisfaction. This change comes shortly after a series of price hikes for various plans, highlighting the company’s responsiveness to customer feedback.

Jio Plan Benefits

On Friday, Jio unveiled a revamped version of its Rs 349 prepaid plan, now rebranded as Hero 5G. The update extends the plan’s validity from 28 days to 30 days, providing users with a longer service period without altering the daily data allowance. The plan continues to offer 2GB of data per day, but with the total data cap increased from 56GB to 60GB. This adjustment adds extra value to the plan without modifying the daily data limit.

In addition to the increased data limit, users in areas covered by Jio’s True 5G service will benefit from unlimited 5G internet access. This is a significant upgrade for those with 5G-enabled devices and residing in regions with Jio’s advanced network infrastructure.

Earlier Jio Tariff Price Hike

The revision of the Rs 349 plan follows a series of price hikes implemented by Jio last month. Plans such as the Rs 209 option, which provides 1GB of data per day, increased to Rs 249. Similarly, the Rs 666 plan, offering 1.5GB per day for 84 days, rose to Rs 799.

The annual plan priced at Rs 2,999, which provides 2.5GB of data per day, was adjusted to Rs 3,599. Despite these increases, Jio has also reduced the price of the Rs 1,199 plan to Rs 999, extending its validity from 84 days to 98 days.

Jio’s move to adjust the plan’s validity and data benefits reflects a balance between maintaining competitive pricing and investing in service upgrades. As Jio continues to expand its 5G network, these improvements are likely aimed at solidifying customer loyalty and enhancing the overall user experience.

While the latest updates to the Rs 349 plan are a positive development for users, Jio has not indicated whether similar revisions will be applied to other plans in the near future.
