Jaipur: Days after Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya issued a Covid-19 advisory to Rahul Gandhi over ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra’, Rajasthan Minister P Kachariyawas on Saturday posed a series of questions to the Central government regarding the Covid-19 situation in the country.

Kachariyawas said that Rahul Gandhi-led Bharat Jodo Yatra is going good, lakhs of people are joining it. BJP’s Jan Aakrosh Yatra has failed but Union Health Minister is writing to Rahul Gandhi.

“‘Aapke pet mein dard ku hora hai’. Where is Covid? We can’t see it. Till now Covid has not come,” said the Congress leader while hitting back at Mandaviya.

He further asked, “Where was Covid when BJP was taking out Jan Aakrosh Yatra? Where was Covid when PM Modi was attending rallies in Tripura? Or when elections were being held?”

Yesterday, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi said the ruling party can hold as many public meetings as it wants in the rest of India but sees Covid only where his Bharat Jodo Yatra is passing through.

His fresh attack came a day after he said the government is coming up with “excuses” to stop the Kanyakumari-to-Kashmir yatra, which is currently in the national capital.

Earlier this week, Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya wrote to Gandhi requesting him to consider suspending the march if Covid protocols could not be followed.

The Kanyakumari-to-Kashmir yatra, a mass contact initiative of the Congress which started on September 7, has so far covered Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Telangana, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan and is currently passing through Haryana.
