Snoop Dogg revealed that he’s never voted before, but will be doing so during the 2020 elections for the first time ever.

In an interview with Big Boy’s Neighborhood on Real 92.3 that aired Thursday, the Long Beach based rapper said he didn’t want President Donald Trump in office for any longer.

“I ain’t never voted a day in my life, but this year I think I’m going to get out and vote because I can’t stand to see this punk in office one more year,” the “Gin & Juice” artist responded to Big Boi’s question asking him what he thought about Trump and voting.

The 48-year-old rapper said he was lead to believe that he wasn’t allowed to vote due to his criminal history. Snoop Dogg was convicted of a felony in 1990 and 2007.

“For many years they had me brainwashed thinking that you couldn’t vote because you had a criminal record,” the rapper said. “I didn’t know that. My record’s been expunged so now I can vote.”

Snoop Dogg went on to say that 2020 was definitely the year he was going to get out and vote because he wanted to back up his words with action.

“We got to make a difference, I can’t talk about it and not be about it,” the rapper said.

“I can’t tell you to do it and then not go do it … If I tell you to do something, I done it already.”

The rapper went on to encourage everyone to stay safe protesting during the coronavirus pandemic and noted that he’s been trying to stay positive in quarantine.

“I’ve been up and down, I’m a human, I have good days, bad days, but I’m more locked in so I like to pace so either walk around in circles, watch things on TV, play video games … just keeping myself busy and staying active, “Snoop Dogg said.

He added that he’s been sticking to social distancing guidelines and staying home.

“I want to lead by example,” Snoop Dogg said.

He said even though he’s not out in the streets protesting, he’s still using his platform and his music to spread the message.
