New Delhi: Commuters in Delhi had a difficult time on Friday during the second phase of odd-even scheme after Metro train services from Tis Hazari-Rithala and Kashmere Gate to Dilshad were disrupted.

Metro trains on these routes ran on a single line for some time after 1.30 pm, according to sources.

Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) officials said the problem was with overhead equipment system. "We are trying to rectify the problem at the earliest," DMRC official said.

To ensure hassle free services to the commuters, the Delhi government ramped up the public transport and also ensured around 3,248 daily trips during the next fortnight by the DMRC.

But with the affected metro services at Tis Hazari-Rithala and Kashmere Gate to Dilshad Garden, passengers travelling to these parts of the city faced difficulties to commute to their respective places.

Meanwhile, a total of 511 traffic challans were issued till 1 pm.
