“Cool clock, Ahmed,” Obama tweeted about Ahmed Mohamed, 14. “Want to bring it to the White House?”

“We should inspire more kids like you to like science,” the president added. “It’s what makes America great.”

Police in Irving, Texas announced on Wednesday that they are not filing charges against Mohamed after the Sudanese-American student brought his clock to MacArthur High School, NBC News reported.

Mohamed was suspended for three days by Irving School District administrators after his clock went off during class. A teacher questioned whether the clock was a bomb and confiscated it.

The student was later handcuffed and taken into police headquarters for questioning, according to NBC Dallas-Fort Worth.
