SINGAPORE: Three Indians were among 25 foreigners who were sentenced up to four weeks in prison by a Singaporean court for submitting forged documents to obtain work permits.
The city state's manpower ministry said on Wednesday that all of them submitted forged academic certificates to apply for work passes, as they did not possess required university degree.

MUMBAI: In its toughest move to defend the rupee after the Lehman Brothers crisis in 2008, the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has moved to push up short-term rates in the money markets which will choke speculators and attract dollars to India.
RBI said that it would limit its lending of overnight funds to banks to Rs 75,000 crore.
