Issues that were affecting Facebook this evening appear to have been fixed.
The number of reports of faults with the platform on Down Detector has dramatically descreased from tens of thousands to a few hundred.
Meanwhile on other social networking sites such as Twitter, people have reported Facebook as working for them once again.
No official statement has been provided by Facebook yet.

It’s one of the most popular websites in the world, however it seems that Facebook is suffering from technical issues.
There have been several reports of problems, which appear to have started at around 5.15pm today.
While the reason for the apparent crash remains unclear, many have reported a “total blackout” of the website.
Down Detector reported that social media users in the UK , US and Japan have been experiencing the most issues with the platform.

Those trying to access Facebook have been met by a blank screen as their news feed has not been loading.
Social media users have taken to Twitter to voice their views on the technical hitch.
