Congress President Rahul Gandhi, along with the Mumbai Congress Chief Sanjay Nirupam addressed almost 15,000 booth-level workers as a part Project Shakti today in Mumbai.
Project Shakti is Nirupam’s brainchild which aims at empowering the ground-level workers and facilitating two-way communication between the party workers and the central leadership.

The Congress President in his speech hit out at BJP and said, “They (BJP) have recently lost in Karnataka and have barely saved themselves in Gujarat, they will be wiped out in Rajasthan, MP and Chhatisgarh. Congress and other opposition parties will defeat them in the General Elections of 2019.

Rahul Gandhi also mentioned the former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s ailing health condition in his speech.
“I went to meet the former PM on priority because I am a soldier of Congress. Vajpayee Ji had worked for our country and we respect him as he was the Prime Minister. This is our culture,” said Rahul Gandhi.
The Congress President also said that he has observed in events how PM Modi does not respect senior leaders of the Bhartiya Janta Party. He said that he feels sad for LK Advani and the Congress has given the senior leader more respect then BJP did.

Rahul mentioned in his speech that a senior politician once told him that it’s after 50 years he has realised that only Congress can keep the country safe and defeat the ideology of BJP and RSS.
The Congress President’s visit to Mumbai was clearly one of the most important initial moves for the Congress Party as the 2019 Lok Sabha Elections are just a few months away.
