DUBLIN, IRELAND: New Zealand Women broke their own 21-year-old record as they racked up 490-4 against Ireland Women in Dublin – the highest ever One-Day International score by any team.

Captain Suzie Bates smashed 151 off 94 balls en route to her 10th ODI century as she became the White Ferns’ leading all-time scorer in 50-over cricket.

The 30-year-old amassed 24 fours and two sixes in her innings as she moved second for the most hundreds in ODIs, ahead of former England captain Charlotte Edwards and just one behind Meg Lanning.

Auckland-born Maddy Green scored her maiden hundred, surpassing her previous best score of 47, as she powered her way to 121 off 77 balls, hitting 15 fours and a six.

And there were high scores for three other New Zealand players, with Jess Watkin making an impressive 62 on her ODI debut, Amelia Kerr also registering her maiden half-century, becoming the youngest New Zealand player to do so at the age of 17, as she finished 82 not out and Bernadine Bezidenhout making an unbeaten quickfire 23.

For Ireland’s bowlers, their figures did not make easy reading with Cara Murray ending with 2-119, as she had Bates stumped and Amy Satterthwaite caught at mid-wicket.

Meanwhile Gaby Lewis, Lara Maritz and Louise Little all gave away 92 runs off their 10 overs as the hosts conceded 110 from the final 10.

New Zealand will face England in a T20 Tri-series alongside South Africa, beginning on Wednesday June 20, before taking on the hosts in three ODIs in July.
