The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has announced the Class 10 board exam results 2018 today, May 29 on the official website, the link for which is cbse.nic.in
This year, Prakhar Mittal of DPS Gurgaon has topped the board examination with 499 marks out of 500.
Details of marks:
Percentage: 99.8 per cent
In an exclusive interview with IndiaTodayEducation, the Class 10 topper Prakhar Mittal said, “I did not expect to top the board examination. I thought to score 90 per cent only.”
Where did he lose 1 mark?
The CBSE Class 10 topper lost 1 mark in French.
Preparation strategy:
While speaking about the preparation strategy, Mittal said:
“I was consistent throughout the board examination. I did not take board examination burden on me.”
“My parents did not put any pressure on me and I just read whatever was taught in my school,” added the CBSE topper.
Topper shares success mantra:
“You don’t have to study for hours. Just be regular and revise all the topics which you feel are difficult,” said Prakhar Mittal.
Support from parents:
“My parents have also supported. They never stopped me from doing extracurricular activities. I just studied calmly,” said the topper.
Coaching from FIITJEE:
“I was taking coaching from FIITJEE for both class 10 board examination and for engineering also,” he said.
Topper wants to pursue Engineering:
“After completing my Class 12 board examination, I will take up engineering in my graduation,” Prakhar added.

4 students share top spot with 499 marks:
The overall pass percentage this year is 86.70 per cent. Four students have shared the top position with 499 marks out of 500 marks.
The toppers are Prakhar Mittal, Rimzhim Aggrawal, Nandini Garg and Shreelakshmi G.
The top 3 regions in CBSE Class 10 Results 2018 are Trivandrum with 99.6 per cent, Chennai with 97.37 per cent followed by Ajmer in 91.86 per cent. Total candidates who scored above 95 per cent are 27,476 and candidates who scored above 90 per cent are 1, 31,493.
