1 dead, 25 injured after 6.7 magnitude earthquake jolts Northeast India

Kolkata: A major earthquake with a magnitude of 6.7 on the Richter Scale rocked Eastern and North Eastern part of India early on Monday morning. At least one person has died and 25 others have been injured in the quake.

The epicenter of the earthquake was at Tamenglong which is located 33 kilometers from Imphal in Manipur.

The epicenter of the earthquake was at Tamenglong which is located 33 kilometers from Imphal in Manipur.

The quake occurred at 4.35 AM at a depth of 17 km below the ground. The epicenter has been located at Long 24.8 Deg North and Lat 93.5 Deg East.

Tremors were felt in the North Eastern and Eastern part of the country including Kolkata, Assam, Nagaland and Arunachal Pradesh.
