MUMBAI: It's been 50 days since SS Rajamouli's magnum opus Baahubali hit the screens, but the multi-lingual film is still busy setting new records.
From reaching Rs 300-crore mark to breaking the overseas records set by Bollywood hits like PK and Happy New Year, Baahubali has become the most-talked-about film of the year. The biggest blockbuster of the year so far has added yet another feather to its cap. The Hindi dubbed version of the film has minted Rs 120 crore within 50 days of its release.
The record-breaking film Baahubali has shown its audience 'The Beginning' of a revolution in Indian cinema. The multi-starrer stormed theatres in July and is continuing to enjoy a strong stance. Laced with power-packed visuals and impeccable screenplay, the film has become an inspiration for almost all the filmmakers.
If the Hindi dubbed version has earned Rs 120 crore, reports are also rife that the epic war drama has already crossed Rs 500 crore mark across the globe. In fact, Baahubali became the highest opener for a Hindi dubbed film by earning Rs 5.15 crore. This is the first ever for a dubbed film to reach this mark in Indian cinema and Baahubali has opened doors for other regional films like Puli and Srimanthudu to work wonders at the box office.

Starring Prabhas, Rana Daggubati, Tamannaah Bhatia and Anushka Shetty in pivotal roles, the film hit the screens on July 10. Ever since, it has managed to attract large numbers of viewers to the theatres. Rajamouli's larger-than-life ambitious project has left the audiences awestruck witnessing the visual spectacle. Baahubali is a drama about a kingdom at war.
Filmmaker Karan Johar's Dharma Productions has acquired the rights of the Hindi dubbed version of the film. Made on a budget of Rs 250 crore, the multi-lingual film has been made in Tamil and Telugu simultaneously.
The second part of the franchise is set to release next year. The cast and crew will resume shooting for Baahubali: The Conclusion in September. Nearly 40 percent of the film has already been shot and the rest will be shot in the coming few months. Veteran actor Sathyaraj, who played Kattappa in the film, has already allocated 100 days for the second part. The shooting of Baahubali is expected to wrap up till the end of this year, and the sequel will hit the screens by 2016 summer.
