Govt is planning to revive all development projects to the tune of Rs 5 lakh crore, including national highways expansion project and PM’s Grameen Sadak Yojana
Vijayawada: Union Urban Development Minister M Venkaiah Naidu today said that the NDA is committed to revive all the development projects, which were left unfinished by the previous UPA Government.
“The Government will revive all the development projects to the tune of Rs 5 lakh crore which were left incomplete by the UPA Government. In addition, the Government also has to revise the national highways expansion (project) and the Prime Minister’s Grameen Sadak Yojana,” he said addressing BJP workers here.
“Our primary objective is to fulfill the ambitions and aspirations of the people who gave us full majority,” he said.
Naidu, who is on his maiden visit to the city after taking over as the Union Minister, said that NDA is committed to bring back the black money stashed in foreign banks.
Speaking on the successor states post AP bifurcation, he said both Andhra Pradesh and Telangana are equal in the eyes of the Union Government.
“There would not be any discrimination. There is a need for overall development and the Centre will support all states for their development,” he said, adding that NDA is prepared to fulfil all the promises made by UPA at the time of passing the Telangana Bill.
He said some political parties were unnecessarily creating problems for political gains on Polavaram issue.
The minister said that the Centre has promulgated an ordinance merging some villages and mandals of Telangana with Seemandhra to deal with resettlement and rehabilitation those displaced by the Polavaram project.
The ordinance, cleared by the Union Cabinet in the last week of May, aims to facilitate smooth resettlement and rehabilitation on part of the multi-purpose project.
He appealed to other political parties not to create divisions among Telugu people in the name of Polavaram.
BJP State President and Parliament Member K Haribabu and other Parliament member G Ganga Raju and four BJP MLAs attended the programme.
