Former president of Pakistan, Parvez Musharraf's party members have informed that they are going to boycott the polls, which are scheduled to take place on the 11th of May. Musharraf returned back to Pakistan on the 24th of March after a self exile for 4 long years. He came majorly to contest in the upcoming general elections.

He has now been booked and arrested over the imposition of emergency rule in 2007, the assassination of former premier Benazir Bhutto and the killing of Baloch leader Akbar Bugti in a 2006 military operation. He has been taken under judicial custody and is remanded at his farm house which is considered as a sub jail.

Muhammad Amjad, the spokesman for Musharraf's All Pakistan Muslim League (APML) announced the boycott and said that the rejection of nomination papers filed by Musharraf is the reason behind this decision. He further said that Musharraf will face all the cases and will not run away from the situation.
