WASHINGTON: The US Global AIDS coordinator ambassador, Eric Goosby, is travelling to India this week to recognize the successful health partnership between the two countries, an official statement said.

WASHINGTON: The US Global AIDS coordinator ambassador, Eric Goosby, is travelling to India this week to recognize the successful health partnership between the two countries, an official statement said.

During his India trip from May 1 to 4, Goosby will meet with key government officials in the health sector, development partners, donor agencies, non-government organizations, and academic institutions to see first-hand the important work being done to fight HIV/AIDS in India.

Besides New Delhi, he will be visiting field programmes and meeting with health officials in Hyderabad and Varanasi.

Goosby leads all US Government international HIV/AIDS efforts as the United States Global AIDS Coordinator.

In this role, he oversees implementation of the US President's Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR), as well as engagement with the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria.
