While refusing to draw parallel between Bollywood actor Amitabh Bachhan and cricketer Sachin Tendulkar, former cricketer turned BJP MP from Amritsar parliamentary constituency Navjot Singh Sidhu observed that Bachchan was not the best in the world and there were several like him but no one in the world was like Sachin Tendulkar.

"Actors like Bachchan are many in the world but like a Kohinoor diamond Sachin is the only one in the world" said Sidhu while talking to mediapersons at Sri Guru Ram Das International Airport.

He said he never meant to undermine Bachchan as he was not only great actor but will always remain great. "He is my biggest hero" said Sidhu.

But iconic figure like Sachin Tendulkar would remain in the hearts and minds of people for next seven generations. He said Sachin Tendulkar shapes his own future and at the age of 40 he was a living institution.

"Jo sachin ne kita hai uh kisi mi dae lal ne nahi kita" (No one has done what Sachin has accomplished) he said. He said like Sachin we can't say that Bachhan had done something which no one in the world has done. "There are many English actors" he said adding that we had to understand this difference.

"Sachin is a hero and let him be a hero only," he said.

About the performance of Indian cricket team he said there were 7 to 8 cricketers including Rahul Dravid, Anil Kumble, Zaheer Khan, Harbhajan Singh and Sourav Ganguly who enjoyed number one status while playing in ground.

But they were no more playing with Indian team as they had been replaced by the young cricketers who required some time to settle.

"We should have patience as the team is in transition phase" he said but added in the same breath that loosing test matches in a row was shameful.
