Ludhiana: Indian women Kabaddi team on Saturday defeated Malaysia by a huge margin of 72-12 to win the one-sided final of the world cup kabaddi played at Guru Nanak Stadium here.
India clinched the 2012 women's Kabaddi World Cup championship title, defeating Malaysia 72-12
In the half time, the Indian team was leading with the difference of 40-6 points. After the introduction, both the teams lock the horns to win the title of Pearls Third Kabaddi World Cup 2012. Since the start of the match, Indian eves were holding a strong position over their opposition Malaysia by presenting their skills of playing Kabaddi.
Raiders of Indian team Priyanka, Paramjit Kaur Sukhi, Captain Kulwinder Kaur supported the team to a great extent.
Malaysian tried hard but ended at the second position only. Though Denmark women Kabaddi team ended up at the third position in Kabaddi world cup.
Punjab chief minister Parkash Singh Badal handed over prize money cheque of Rs 51 lakh to the winning team while the runners-up took home Rs 31 lakh.
The third position holder Danish women Kabbadi team took the prize money of Rs 21 lakh.
