New Delhi – The Indian Premier League (IPL) issued an ultimatum to the Royal Challengers Bangalore on Thursday to clear all outstanding player payments within a specified period to be eligible to take part in the next edition.

The IPL's governing council which met here on Thursday discussed player payments, which is also said to be a major issue with the Deccan Chargers team that is currently in serious financial trouble.

It is learnt that the governing council has told RCB to ensure that the players have no complaints regarding payment of dues for the 2012 season. There were reports that many leading RCB players were yet to be paid even the first instalment of their fees for the last season, including skipper Daniel Vettori.
