Union Home Minister P Chidambaram s speech at the Calcutta Chamber of Commerce on Thursday morning that the inter party clashes were contusing in West Bengal and said that “Bullet to Bullet” formula will not work in democracy has hit the Trinamool Congress head the Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee hard.
Not agreeing with this statement and challenging this Mamata on Friday morning has sent an angry letter stating that his statement were wrong and that death number is false. Confirming this she says:
Yes, I have written him a letter. In the letter, I have said that the 'figures given by you are not correct. What prompted you to give this figure and from where you got this figure',"
Based on statistics, Chidambaram had said in the first half of the current year, 82 people have been killed in 455 incidents of violence across the state while on contrary Banerjee said in the letter that only five persons, including three Trinamool supporters, were killed in the clashes.
Soon after the Chidambarams statements Trinamool leader Subrata Mukherjee says the “This just a conspiracy and an attempt to pressurize us to support UPA nominee for President post”.
