Pakistan PM convenes energy conference

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani took notice of load shedding protests across the country and convened energy conference on Tuesday.

PM Gilani, who is in Saudi Arabia to attend the funeral prayer of Crown Prince Naif, issued the instructions to ministries of Water and Power and Petroleum to resolve the matter.

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani took notice of load shedding protests across the country and convened energy conference on Tuesday.

PM Gilani, who is in Saudi Arabia to attend the funeral prayer of Crown Prince Naif, issued the instructions to ministries of Water and Power and Petroleum to resolve the matter.

The PM is expected to come back Monday evening. He will chair the energy conference tomorrow.

Violent protests against incessant load shedding continued in several areas of the Punjab today where protestors took to streets and registered their protest. However, police and other law enforcement agencies let the protestors ransack the public and private property.
