Chennai/New Delhi: Favoring Mamata’s call to move a no-confidence motion against the UPA government, Tamil Nadu chief Minister J Jayalalithaa has announced her wish to support the move in the winter session of parliament on Nov 22.
To take a final decision on Trinamool Congress Chief Mamata Banerjee’s move, the DMK MPs have announced to hold a meeting in Chennai on Tuesday.
While approaching the BJP on Sunday, Mamata called Sushma Swaraj seeking her party’s support to bring a no-confidence motion against the ruling Congress government.
When the BJP leader Murli Manohar Joshi was asked whether the move of no-confidence motion was a right decision taken by the Trinamool Congress, Joshi said, “It is a right decision to oppose the FDI, but the TMC’s decision to bring a no-confidence motion is all up to it for which it should be ready to meet the consequences.”
“TMC which lacks in numbers will have to depend on other parties. In spite of this if the TMC wants to go ahead with its demand then it should also be ready with whatever ill happens,” warned the BJP leader.
Giving a clarification on his statement, Joshi said that while moving for a no-confidence motion if the numbers are less and the motion proves unsuccessful, then the ruling government will be positioned safely for another six months and one such more motion will not be possible for the next six months.
The BJP will be taking a final decision after its leaders who left to Mumbai to attend the funeral of the Shiv Sena chief return back to Delhi, said Joshi.
However, good news is coming in for Mamata from the CPI senior leader Gurudas Dasgupta, who has announced that his party is ready to join hands with any party which is supporting a no-confidence motion against the ruling Congress government, and also indicated that if the TMC is moving the motion then it has to take the responsibilities of gathering support by the necessary fifty MPs also.
