Al Gore on Sunday hit President Trump for a tweet criticizing the London Mayor following the terrorist attacks in the United Kingdom over the weekend.

"I actually happened to see the statement from the mayor of London and that's not what I heard him say," Gore told CNN's "State of the Union."

"I don't think that a major terrorist attack like this is the time to be divisive and criticize a mayor whose trying to organize a city's response to this attack."

Trump on Saturday offered the United Kingdom "full support" in the aftermath of the attacks. But the president took to Twitter early Sunday to hit Mayor Sadiq Khan.

"At least 7 dead and 48 wounded in terror attack and Mayor of London says there is 'no reason to be alarmed!'" Trump said.

Khan in his statement condemned the "cowardly" attacks.

"There is no justification whatsoever for such barbaric acts," Khan said.
