Tripura Education Minister Tapan Chakraborty told reporters: "Union Human Resource Development and Information Technology Minister Kapil Sibal informed at a meeting in New Delhi Tuesday that northeast's first IIIT would be set up in Tripura."

Muslims across India are split over the decision of the Delhi High saying that a girl can get married if she attains puberty by the age of 15. Muslim religious leaders welcomed the court ruling, in line with the Sharia laws, while others said girls at 15 are not mature enough to get married.
