If the Mars Orbiter Mission programme misses the October 28-November 19 launch window, India may have to ground the mission for at least two years.

MUMBAI: The rupee advanced by 28 paise to a seven-week high of 61.45 against the dollar in late morning deals on Friday on selling of the US currency by banks and exporters triggered by its weakness overseas.
Good foreign capital inflows into equity market also boosted the rupee value against the dollar, a forex dealer said.

MUMBAI: At 6am on Gandhi Jayanti, the 1,350kg Indian Mars Orbiter began its initial journey towards the Red Planet. After a puja for the mission's success, the spacecraft was flagged off from the Isro Satellite Centre in Bangalore towards the launch centre at Sriharikota near Chennai.
