With the new decade fast approaching, our resident astrologer Chani Nicholas offers her horoscope forecast for each zodiac sign in 2020.

Over the next decade, two of the slowest moving planets in our solar system, Neptune and Pluto, will change sign. Because both planets stay in a sign for roughly two decades, the fact that both will change sign within a year of each other is significant. Their transit through a particular sign will speak to what gets embodied…and eventually lived out by a generation.

Pluto, the planet of long-term transformation, will end its transit through Capricorn (an earth sign associated with systems, the material realm, and tradition) and will begin its transit through Aquarius in 2024, where it will be until 2044. Aquarius is a sign known for its intellect. Thinking outside the box is easy for this air sign and here, Pluto will emphasize the transformations necessary to innovate our outdated systems and cultural norms. Known for its humanitarian aims, mental rigidity, and lack of emotional warmth, in Aquarius Pluto will promote ideas that will shift culture and inspire new visions for society.

The last time Pluto was in Aquarius was between 1778 and 1798. Under its influence, The American Revolution began. This gives us some insight into the influence this transit can have. This planetary shift doesn’t mean revolution will occur, but we can reflect upon what is similar about this moment to that one, using the knowledge of history so as not to repeat the same mistakes.

By 2025, Neptune will begin its transit of Aries. This is a huge shift in focus as Neptune moves from the connectivity of Pisces to the individuality of Aries. The last time Neptune transited Aries was from 1861 to 1875, another defining time in American history that saw the American Civil War take place. This next transit of Neptune in Aries (2025 to 2032) will again ask us to use our individual power to promote necessary social and political change.

These transits sound like tall orders, and they are. But we know that the pursuit of truth, justice, and living in accordance with the earth is a never-ending process, one that asks for our constant involvement.

You’ll move beyond any career confusion that you have been battling with while developing a deeper relationship to the communities that inspire you.

Cancer

Partnership is a major motivator for you from 2008 through 2024. The ups and downs that you go through with others help you to experience the most profound transformations of your life. By mid-decade, the emphasis shifts to resource sharing and your interest in collective wealth is piqued. Meanwhile, your career takes an interesting twist. Fame won’t heal you, but if you’ve spent the past couple decades working on yourself, you’ll enjoy your newfound notoriety with a grain of salt and much gratitude.

Leo

By mid-decade, the emphasis shifts from moving mountains at work to moving through thick and thin within your most important relationships. You’ll be yearning to be in the kind of relationships that help you make long-lasting changes in both your personal and professional lives. You’ll also be yearning for the kinds of experiences that help you understand what self-realization looks like for you.

Virgo

Your career will see the wilder side of you come the next 10 years. You’ll be innovating your industry in ways you may not be able to conceive of quite yet. You’ll need to trust what you are channeling and learn how to swap the need to be liked for the need to respect and serve the creative energy that runs through you.

Libra

The expression of your creative gifts will lead to your greatest personal transformations over the next decade. What you bring into the world will bring you along with it. What you create, creates you too. Committed partnerships go through a process of purification—the ones that aren’t built to last won’t.

Scorpio

As the decade unfolds it asks you to infuse your work life with your vision for success, inspiring you to make your dreams a professional reality. You’ll also be asked to transform your relationship to your roots, past, and foundation. You’ll excavate buried treasures and skeletons long-lost—both of which bring priceless benefits, information, and healing.

Sagittarius

Your creativity soars and your communications make a major impact over the next 10 years while some of the greatest innovations, breakthroughs, and changes you are a part of will take place in your committed personal and professional partnerships. Make sure that you’re entering into these relationship agreements with those that want to evolve in the ways you do, and you’ll move mountains together.

Encouraged to connect to your reserves of wealth (both inner and outer), you’ll be inspired to offer the same kind of wisdom to others. Communal well-being will be your greatest asset.

Aquarius

By mid-decade you encounter some of the greatest transformations of your life. They will span the course of a couple decades. There’s no rush here, and no way to get through them quickly. Come the 30’s, you’ll be so much more in your power, you’ll barely recognize your 20’s self.

Pisces

After a long investigation into the nature of your identity, your place in the world, and your impact on it, the next decade sees you living out your purpose with far less doubt and far more connection to your assets, talents and self-worth.
