Hamid Ansari was re-elected as the vice president of Indian on Tuesday. Ansari received maximum votes when the rival Jaswant Singh of the NDA lost with 250 votes.

Hamid Ansari was re-elected as the vice president of Indian on Tuesday. Ansari received maximum votes when the rival Jaswant Singh of the NDA lost with 250 votes.

Ansari received 490 from the members of the parliament and Singh received 238. Ansari’s first term as vice-president began in 2007, when he secured 455 votes in an electoral college of 790, to defeat Najma Heptullah of the BJP. Ansari is the grand nephew of former Congress president Mukhtar Ahmad Ansari.
