Kingfisher Airlines may have landed into all kinds of troubles, but its flambouyant promoter Vijay Mallya thinks that India's image as an investment destination has taken a beating. "India's global image has taken a beating," Mallya said Monday on the social networking platform Twitter. Kingfisher which is neck-deep into financial problems, seems to be betting on the government's intent to allow foreign airlines to invest in the domestic carriers.

A Tibetan protester lit himself on fire at a demonstration in the Indian capital ahead of a visit by China's President.The protester was engulfed in flames as he ran near the speakers at the rally near the Indian Parliament.
