WASHINGTON (AP) — President Barack Obama says he deserves re-election, despite the nation's economic troubles.

Obama said in a pre-Super Bowl interview on NBC that his administration is creating more than 250,000 jobs a month, the most since 2005, and a reversal from the 750,000 jobs the economy was losing three years ago.

India finally emerged victorious for the first time on their disastrous tour of Australia with a comfortable eight-wicket triumph in the second Twenty20 International at the MCG. India finally broke through for their first win of the tour to end their 16-game away loosing streak, thanks to a dazzling display in the field. 

Acid thrown on Mumbai girl; attacker held

MUMBAI: Another girl became the target of acid attack in Mumbai on Tuesday. The incident occurred at Goregaon railway station at around 6:47 pm on Wednesay, February 01, 2012.

The girl, Aarti Thakur, was attacked by one Pintoo Sheikh. The attacker threw acid on her and fled. Aarti who sustained burn injuries was admitted to a private hospital. Doctors said she suffered 10 to 15 percent burns but was stable.
