WASHINGTON: Ahead of the next week's India-US education dialogue, the United States Education Secretary Arne Duncan has said there is chance to provide a much better education for thousands of young people in India.
"I think the challenges India faces dwarf -- make ours look relatively simple. But I think there's a chance to provide a much better education for hundreds and hundreds and thousands of young people in India," Duncan told reporters at a White House news conference yesterday.

Agartala — Northeast India's first IIIT (Indian Institute of Information Technology) will be set up in Tripura, a minister said here Friday.
Tripura Education Minister Tapan Chakraborty told reporters: "Union Human Resource Development and Information Technology Minister Kapil Sibal informed at a meeting in New Delhi Tuesday that northeast's first IIIT would be set up in Tripura."

Muslims across India are split over the decision of the Delhi High saying that a girl can get married if she attains puberty by the age of 15. Muslim religious leaders welcomed the court ruling, in line with the Sharia laws, while others said girls at 15 are not mature enough to get married.
