Washington — The US wants to increase commercial space cooperation with India to create opportunities for US and Indian companies as their "very capable space science communities" have much to offer each other.

"India's first Indian Mars Orbiter Mission, slated for October 2013, is an exciting opportunity for US-India collaboration," Geoffrey Pyatt, principal deputy assistant secretary for South Asia said opening a meeting of the US-India Civil Space Joint Working Group.

Sri Lanka would like to regain control of India-owned tanks in the northeastern port of Trincomalee. According to Information Minister Keheliya Rambukwella, the tanks are not in use by India. Rambukwella maintains that the move is not meant as retaliation for India's recent vote to censure Sri Lanka at the UN Human Rights Council.

MELBOURNE: An Indian-origin male nurse lost his registration and was banned from practising in Australia for at least a year after he was found guilty of professional misconduct for feeding dishwashing liquid to an elderly patient apparently due to his poor English skills.

Bhavesh Shah was practicing as a nurse at the Sydney Adventist Hospital at Wahroonga in May 2009 when he treated a 79-year-old patient who had come in for a hip replacement.
