Never do the mistake of skipping your breakfast as it will affect your health in the long run

Do you skip breakfast quite often? Running on empty stomach can leave you feeling fatigued and tired all through the day. In the long run, it also affects your health. So, start your day with a power breakfast and then see the difference yourself.

For nothing, it's called 'breakfast', in simple terms it means eating in the morning after a almost a gap of 10-12 hours. However, studies across the world have also shown that there are many people who skip their breakfast quite frequently. According to a European online poll, 38 per cent of people skip breakfast everyday with a further 36 per cent skipping breakfast sometimes. Nearly two thirds of people said that they skipped breakfast more than once a week. The reasons given included having too little time, trying to manage weight and not liking eating in the morning. Closer home, many people also skip breakfast for the same reason.

However, nutritionists and dietitians all agree on one point: Start your day with a hearty breakfast and many health issues will be taken care of. After a number of hours without food, body literally needs to break the fast to renew energy reserves and re-fuel the brain and body. A balanced breakfast complete with nutrients, vitamins and minerals result in improved concentration. And this will lead to better performance both in the classroom and the boardroom. So, make sure that you don't skip your breakfast.

Eating breakfast is the secret to staying healthy, according to studies done by the doctors in the United Studies. Through their primary research, the doctors believe skipping the first meal of the day increases the chance of becoming obese, developing diabetes or even having a heart attack. Research suggests that people who eat breakfast are less likely to be hungry during the rest of the day and are, therefore, less likely to overeat.

If you are having time constraints in the morning, start your day a little bit early. As they say, plan your breakfast the night before. And add little bit of innovation to your breakfast. Even making a hot breakfast of upma or poha doesn't take too much of time.

Enjoy your breakfast before you start your day. This will give a push to your metabolism.
