LUCKNOW: In order to oppose fundamentalist in their own community, Shia and Sunni Muslim clerics have come together under the banner of World Waeela Front. Formed by Shia cleric Maulana Kalbe Jawwad, the front has demanded ban on Talibani ideology as they perceive is to be the one of the biggest threat for the counry.

In order to oppose fundamentalist in their own community, Shia and Sunni Muslim clerics have come together under the banner of World Waeela Front.

The front is organising two day conference at Shahnajaf Imambara in Lucknow in which the clerics will appeal to the Muslim community to shun fundamentalism and fundamentalist leaders.

The clerics said that some elements were trying to create Afghanistan and Libya-like unrest in the country at the behest of the USA and Israel. They said that there are some elements who follow Talibani ideology and are brainwashing the youth. Referring to murderous attack by Taliban on Malala Yousufzai, 14-year-old, school girl in Pakistan, they said that the Islam does not advocate violence, particularly against innocent people.

Addressing media persons, Maulana Jawwad and Maulana Babar Ashraf stated that such elements are harming the peace of the country. The clerics also claimed that their community's Shias and Sunni Sufi sect is poorly represented and should be given more representation in government by political parties. On the first day of the conference Shia clerics will assemble under the banner of Majlis-e-Ulame-e-Hind from across the country and on the second day there will be a joint conference of both AIUMB and of Majlis-e-Ulame-e-Hind. AIUMB (All India Ulama and Mashaikh Board) is the apex body of custodians of Sufi shrines in the country.

The event is expected to see participation of 600 Shia and 200 Sunni clerics from across the country. "We will demand government to ban people like Zakir Naik who are agents of USA and Israel and propagating Talibani ideology," Maulana Jawad alleged.
