Around thirteen Indian students have been shortlisted to the regional finalists’ list of Google Science Fair 2012. The list consists of 90 students from across the world.

Apart from the thirteen kids, several students of Indian origin too have made it to the list. The online fair calls for creative project ideas from students in the age group of 13-18 years in three categories.

“All you need is an idea. Geniuses are not always A-grade students. We welcome all mavericks, square-pegs and everybody who likes to ask questions,’’ Google had said, while inviting applications.  Google will announce 15 finalists and the winner of the Science in Action prize on June 6. A winner will be selected from each of the age groups: 13-14, 15-16, 17-18.

On July 23, the 15 finalists and the Science in Action winner will be flown to Google's headquarters in California for the award presentation ceremony.
