The Bollywood star faces 419 questions from the judge.
Bollywood actor Salman Khan at the sessions court in Mumbai on Friday in connection with the 2002 hit-and-run case.
MUMBAI, INDIA – Recording his statement in the 2002 hit-and-run case, Bollywood star Salman Khan on Friday told a Mumbai court that he was neither drunk nor driving the car at the time of the accident.
During his three-hour deposition, Mr. Khan faced 419 questions from Judge D.W. Deshpande in the case in which the actor is an accused.
“Accident was not caused by me, sir,” Mr. Khan told the court. “The case against me is false,” he added.
While responding to a question, he said, “I didn’t know that a permit is required to drink (liquor). I was anyway not drinking.”
“I was not driving the car at the time of the accident. My driver Ashok (Singh) was,” Mr. Khan said.
He told the court that the RTO submitted a false report that he did not have a licence in 2002.
On a question on filing of an FIR against him, Mr. Khan said Ravindra Patil, the constable who filed the FIR against him was sleeping in car at the time of the mishap.
