New Delhi: The UPA government spent over Rs 28 lakh on a bash to celebrate its third anniversary. The Rs 7,700-a-head dinner comes at a time when the government has announced austerity measures. Incidentally, the UPA-2 had stipulated that Rs 28 per day is sufficient to keep a person out of poverty.

NEW DELHI: Procuring passport will be costlier from October 1.
Government has decided to increase the Passport and related services fees from Rs 1000 to Rs 1500 under the normal category and from Rs 2500 to Rs 3500 under Tatkal scheme, a statement by the Ministry of External Affairs said tonight.
