NEW DELHI: Expressing disappointment over 5 per cent growth, World Bank today said the Indian economy will soon get back to high growth path of 6 per cent next year and more thereafter.

"India is going to grow by 6 per cent next year and we hope for even more increase in future," World Bank President Jim Yong Kim said.

Kim, who is on a three-day visit to India, was talking to reporters after meeting Finance Minister P Chidambaram here.

NEW DELHI: Delhi gangrape prime accused Ram Singh on Monday committed suicide by hanging himself in Tihar Jail. Ram Singh was to be produced in the court later today for a hearing in the case.

According to Times Now, the incident took place at 5am in jail number 3 of Tihar. His body has been sent to Deen Dayal Upadhyay Hospital for postmortem. ​

NEW DELHI: India has attracted foreign direct investment (FDI) of $22.78 billion in 2012, a decline of 34 per cent over the previous year due to global economic uncertainties.

The country had attracted FDI of $34.62 billion in 2011, according to the department of industrial policy and promotion data.

"The dip in foreign direct investment (FDI) inflows is mainly due to uncertainties in the global economy," an official said.
