CHENNAI, TAMIL NADU – ‘Aaluma Doluma’ is another peppy number composed by ‘Why this Kolaveri di’ fame music director Anirudh Ravichander for the film Vedalam.
It is widely speculated that this song is going to be the introduction of Ultimate Star Ajith Kumar in the film. Going by the response the song is generating, it might just be another runaway hit like Kolaveri di.
A teaser of the song was released on Wednesday and has already crossed 250,697 views on YouTube. The song is definitely going to be a feast for Ajith’s fans who have already made the hashtag #AalumaDoluma trend in Chennai.
The 23-second video shows a salt-and-pepper haired Ajith wearing a purple kurta and blue jeans, waving his finger to the music. ‘Danga Maari’ fame lyricist G Rokesh has penned another meaningless song this time for Thala Ajith.
But what is aaluma doluma? None of Ajith’s fans know, neither do us — Rokesh has a lot of explaining to do in his next press conference.
There’s a sense of ‘evil-fun’ in Ajith’s characterisation in the film, where he plays a psychopath. With his drugged eyes, a heavy drool in his voice and his openly taunting beefed-up self, Ajith is a clear departure from his past roles.
Vedalam is directed by Siva and also stars Shruti Hassan and Lakshmi Menon.
