MUMBAI, INDIA: To say that movie stars are idolized in India would be an understatement of the grossest order. When Amitabh Bachchan fell ill, there were reports of fans immolating themselves.

When superstar Rajnikant was admitted to hospital, the dispatch courier reported that "at least 50 fans conducted the 'mann soru' – a ritual which Tamilians consider as most potent. They spread rice on a mud floor of the Kalikamba temple and eat it. About half of them walked on fire – hoping that would help recovery of the superstar."

And then of course there are the temples and fan clubs. But five Bandra residents, who clearly believe that the way to a star's heart is possibly through our stomachs, have come up with a gastronomically exciting way of paying tribute. The group, who are also die-hard fans of Khan, have now opened a Salman-themed restaurant in Carter Road, called Bhaijaanz.

Rahul Kanal, Tabrez Shaikh, Sohail Siddique, Kursheed Khan, and Zafar Sayed Yusuf also attended the same school (St Stanislaus High School) as Khan, according to a report by Huff Post India.

"The five of us were interested in starting a restaurant together and we had this space. On February 8, we were talking about the theme and decor of the place when it suddenly hit us that we should pay a tribute to Bhai," said Rahul Kanal.

The entrance of Bhaijaanz is inspired by Khan's residence Galaxy Apartment in Bandstand, and it also includes a comic-book menu with breakfast and food items called 'Andaaz Apna Apna' and 'Ek Garam Chai Ki Pyaali Ho'. You can also try a 'Salaam-e-sandwich' or be 'Wrap Ready'.

Needless to say, most food items on the menu are Bhai's favorites: from Mutton Rogan Josh to Mutton dole shole kabab (they're stuffed with cheese). The menu has been specially put together by Tabrez Sheikh, a former chef at Radisson London.

A huge hulk-like painting of Salman greets you as you enter, and the decor consists of all his famous dialogues pasted on thought bubbles, such as "Ek baar jo maine commitment kardi.." and "Dosti mein no sorry no thank you"
