Pete Souza spends his post-White House days sharing photos of his eight years as former President Barack Obama's official photographer.

But the choice of the photos he shares on Instagram — and when he shares them — often appear as digs to the new administration. Some are more subtle than others.

Souza, who also was official White House photographer for President Ronald Reagan, has alluded to President Trump's redecorating plans, his immigration ban and his pick for U.S. Supreme Court.

Days after Trump took office —amid rumors of a White House revamp — Souza posted this photo with the caption, "I like these drapes better than the new ones. Don't you think?"

Then there was this, a photo of Obama and Mexican President Enrique Pena Nieto, who has pledged not to pay for Trump's border wall.

This photo of Merrick Garland, the president's pick for U.S. Supreme Court last year, was posted as Trump prepared to make his own nominee for the high court. His caption says it all: "Merrick Garland. Just saying."
